ELECTRONIC
ART REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PRODUCT ONLY
|
|
IMPORTANT:
Below is what the plant that makes this product requires to
reproduce high quality imprinting directly from your art file without any clean up,
recreating or typesetting charges being necessary.
The printing,
marketing, PR, or communications person/office on your campus will
be familiar with the programs and terms below and likely already
have art in this form or can adapt it for you. Off campus
printers of your business cards, stationery, or brochures are also a
good source. |
|
|
|
Formats: |
MAC or PC
|
|
Software/Programs: |
Adobe Illustrator,
Quark Xpress, PageMaker, InDesign, Freehand, Photoshop or CorelDraw.
We
cannot use, open or accept art created in any page layout,
presentation or word processing programs such as MS Word, Pagemaker
or Power Point.
|
File Types:
|
.eps,
.psd, .tiff, .ai (saved as
vector art - required so that the file can be adjusted in size to fit
the imprint area without any loss of quality). If scanned images
are used with artwork, they must also be sent. Files may be
compressed with Stuffit or WinZip. Every file used to create
the final piece must be included. Editable versions of all
files included.
|
| Fonts: |
Convert all type to
curves, paths or outlines (vector art). Include all placed files
along with the screen and printer fonts used in the document. Reverse Type at least 18pt
serif, 12pt sans-serif. Critical elements at least 1/4" inside pad edge. Avoid
small type and other thin elements for fabric mousepads.
|
| Resolution/Size: |
300
d.p.i., sized to 100%. All scanned images must be initially scanned at this
resolution. Lower resolution art "saved as" the
higher resolution will not work.
|
| Bleeds: |
If art has bleeds, it
needs to bleed past the cuts 1/8"
|
|
Colors: |
Colors
should be defined as either spot or CMYK 4-color process. All spot colors will
be matched to the Pantone Coated Process Imaging Guide.
Converting spot or RGB colors to CMYK will change the appearance of
the color, sometimes dramatically.

|
If you are
unable to provide art per the above, simply email us what you have
and we'll provide an estimate of the cost to make it camera ready
(usually $25-50 depending on complexity). |
|
|
HOW
TO SEND US THE ART:
|
1. First, fax a printout to (678) 482-0771 so that we'll have a back up
copy to attach to your order paperwork.
We use this to answer any questions the
plant has about content or layout. The plant uses it for visual
comparison to confirm that no corruption of your art file occurred during email
transmission. Please jot the purchase order/reference number we
assigned your order in the upper right corner of your fax. |
|
2. Email the art file to us at art@greatgiftsforschools.com.
Use the purchase order/reference number we assigned your order as
the subject line of your email. |
|
That's it! We appreciate your order and
look forward to working with you on your project!
