REQUIREMENTS FOR SENDING
A HARD COPY |
|
What can you use?
|
If you are unable to email us an original art
file, your final product will still turn out looking great if you can
provide us with an advertising slick or high quality, black and
white laser printout of your logo and text. "High quality",
in this case, means printed from a high d.p.i (dots per inch) laser
printer. Regular copies from a copying machine will not work due to
the poor quality of the reproduction. Art designed in or printed
from word processing programs such as Microsoft Word will not work either
because of the jagged - rather than smooth - edges that result. |
|
What if I don't have that?
|
If you do not have a "clean" copy to
provide us, please notify us
of what you do have and we can evaluate whether it can be "cleaned
up" by our graphic artists. We must charge for this time, but
cost rarely exceeds $25.00. |
|
What if I need some wording in addition to my logo?
|
If you have a clean logo but need us to add text
for you (such as "Class of 2###" or "Alumni
Association", we can do this for you as well. The cost of this
and a faxed paper proof for your approval averages $15.00 - 20.00.
If you have a specific font, size, or arrangement of the text that you
prefer, we encourage you to sketch or layout in a word processing program
what you are envisioning and fax that to us at (678)
482-0771. |
|
What if my imprint will be more than one color?
|
If your art is more than one color, you should
submit it color separated. "Color separated" means
there is a separate black and white print showing which part of your logo
should be printed in blue, which part in red, etc. These printouts
are used to make the printing plates for each color, which when combined,
form your final imprint. Providing us with an actual size, color
printout or composite of what the final design should look like is
helpful. |
|
What size should my art be?
|
Your black and white printouts should be actual
size or, preferably, larger. This is because, with printing, it is
always possible to reduce a piece of art, thereby increasing its
"crispness". When an original is blown up, on the other
hand, the dots which make up the image (d.p.i.) become more visible and
the image made fuzzy. |

WARNING: “SNAIL MAIL” OFTEN BECOMES
“LATE”,
“LOST” AND/OR “DAMAGED” MAIL!
|
If you are submitting a hard copy of your
artwork, we STRONGLY encourage you to send it via a trackable method such
as Fedex™ or UPS™. Art sent via the US Post Office 2 Day
Priority Mail has been known to take twice that long and cannot be tracked
to know if it is lost or just late. If you need your product by a
specific deadline, it is well worth the few extra dollars for express
shipping your art upfront to insure that a postal delay doesn't cause you
to have to pay express shipping for boxes and boxes of product on the back
end! |
Regardless of the method you choose, make sure
you use the hard cardboard envelopes offered by all of the above services.
Art sent in a paper or Tyvek™ envelope often arrives with bends and
creases in it rendering it unusable and delaying the beginning of
production on your orderl.. |
Before sending your art, please: |
1) Place your order
with us and wait to receive a copy of your typed up order proof. It
will contain the internal purchase order number (different than your bill
to PO#). You will need to mark this on both the art and the
envelope. In this email, we will also include the mailing address of
the art department for the product you're ordering. |
2) Please fax to (678)
482-0771 a copy of the art you're sending with the
ship day and method noted on it so that we'll know when we should be
expecting it and can follow up with you to confirm its arrival and a date
your art proof should be ready (if applicable). |
|
YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR GOAL!
|
Although providing camera-ready art can sometimes
be the most tedious part of the order process, we do everything possible
to make it as easy as it can be. Our overriding priority is to make
sure that you're going to be completely satisfied with your final product
when it arrives. Reproducing from high quality art is essential to
that. |
If you have any questions at all, please e-mail
us at art@greatgiftsforschools.com
or, if you prefer, call us at (678)
482-2910. We sincerely
appreciate the opportunity to work with you on this project! |
